The Filipino-American Group. Fellowship of SJB parishioners of Filipino heritage or affiliation. We are committed to living and spreading the word of Christ.
Our Mission
- Inspire, encourage and support the participation of all Filipino-American Catholics in the surrounding community in church activities.
Our Vision
- Commit to a common goal to study and live our Catholic faith.
- Unite the Filipino-American parishioners through which our spiritual culture is shared with the rest of the parish community.
- Bring together our own families to participate in church activities to strengthen the age old tradition that “the family who prays together, stays together.”
- Promote unity through diversity.
Our Main Activities
San Lorenzo Ruiz Fiesta. Celebration of the first Filipino Saint. The feast is held each year around September 28. It was this day in 1637 when he professed his faith by martyrdom. The festivity is preceded with a nine day novena.
Simbang Gabi (Advent Evening Mass). A novena to heighten our preparation for the celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Mass is highlighted by traditional Filipino church music and the parade of parols, traditional ornaments that symbolize the star of Christmas.

Breakfast Club. The group participates in the parish’s Breakfast Club. We mainly serve traditional Filipino breakfast, consisting of fried rice, scrambled eggs and longganisa (sweet sausage).
Meditation Park. The group has adopted Station One in Meditation Park. We meet there on the last Wednesday of each month at 6 pm to maintain our section. Come join us!
Bible Study. Held every three weeks at one of our member‘s home. We study the upcoming week’s readings and gospel , using supplemental study guides and discussion.
